District Judge Appointment: Rafaquat Hussain

The Queen has appointed Rafaquat Mahmood Hussain to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Edmonton County Court with effect from 7 February 2022.

Background Information

Rafaquat Mahmood Hussain, aged 49, will be known as District Judge Rafaquat Hussain. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1996. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Adjudicator of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2006, as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2009 and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2016.
