The King has appointed Elizabeth Baker to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.  

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court with effect from 16 June 2025. 

Background Information 

Elizabeth Baker will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Elizabeth Baker. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1996. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2018 and as a District Judge in 2020.
