The King has appointed Henry Gordon to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.  

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the Western Circuit, based at Southampton Magistrates’ Court with effect from 1 September 2025. 

Background Information 

Henry Gordon will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Gordon. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2007. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Employment Judge and as a Fee Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, in 2021. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) and as a Recorder in 2022.
