The Queen has appointed Simon Anthony Heptonstall to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Croydon Magistrates’ Court with effect from 3 February 2020.

Simon Anthony Heptonstall, aged 50 will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ courts) Heptonstall. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1999. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.
