District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Appointment: Luxford
The King has appointed Claire Luxford to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court with effect from 28 April 2025.

Claire Luxford will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Luxford. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2010. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Member of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2021, and as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2022.
