District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Appointment: Towell
The King has appointed Lisa Towell to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Thames Magistrates’ Court with effect from 7 July 2025.
Background Information
Lisa Towell will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Towell. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2011. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts)
in 2022.
