The Queen is pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. This appointment will take effect from 6 October 2020.  It is anticipated that further announcements will be made.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Robert Roger Peel QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Robert Roger Peel QC

Robert Roger Peel QC, aged 54 will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Peel. He was Called to the Bar (M) in 1990 and took Silk in 2010. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009.

He will take up appointment on 6 October 2020 consequential to the retirement of Mrs Justice Parker.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Robert Roger Peel QC to the Family Division.
