High Court Judge Appointment

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. The appointment will take effect from 21 April 2020.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Robert Miles QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Robert Miles QC

Robert John Miles QC, aged 57 will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Miles. He was Called to the Bar (L) in 1987 and took Silk in 2002. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge sitting in the High Court Chancery Division in 2006.

He will take up appointment on 21 April 2020 consequential to the retirement of Mr Justice Warren.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Robert Miles QC to the Chancery Division.
