Mr Justice Nicklin appointed Judge in Charge of the Media and Communications List
The President of the Queen’s Bench Division has appointed Mr Justice Nicklin as Judge in Charge of the Media and Communications list (the MAC list). This appointment will commence on 3 February 2021, when Mr Justice Warby is elevated to the Court of Appeal.
The MAC list is a specialist list which deals with the main media torts (defamation, misuse of private information and claims under the Data Protection Act) and similar or related claims including malicious falsehood and harassment arising from publication or threatened publication by the print or broadcast media, online, on social media, or in speech.
