New Presiding Judges Appointed

The Lord Chief Justice, in concurrence with the Lord Chancellor, has announced the appointment of two Presiding Judges.

Mrs Justice Cutts has been appointed to the Western Circuit where she will succeed Mrs Justice May.

Mrs Justice Lambert has been appointed to the North Eastern where she will succeed Mr Justice Goss.

The appointments are made from 1 January 2021, when the current Presiding Judges step down, to 31 December 2024.

 

 

Notes for Editors:

Mrs Justice Johannah Cutts was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1986 and took Silk in 2008. She was appointed a Recorder in 2002, a Circuit Judge in 2011 and a High Court Judge in 2018.

Mrs Justice Christina Lambert was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1988 and took Silk in 2009. She was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge in 2017 and a High Court Judge in 2018.

Presiding Judges are responsible for the deployment of the judiciary and allocation of cases on their Circuit. They also have a responsibility for general supervision of judges on their circuits.
