New Senior and Area Coroner appointments
The Chief Coroner, Her Honour Alexia Durran, welcomes the appointment of four new Senior Coroners and four new Area Coroners in England and Wales.
They are:
Swansea Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Aled Wyn Gruffydd as Senior Coroner for the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Coroner Area.
Sunderland City Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed David Place as Senior Coroner for the Sunderland Coroner Area.
Lancashire County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Christopher Long as Senior Coroner for the Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen Coroner Area with effect from 1 June 2025.
Norfolk County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Samantha Goward as Senior Coroner for the Norfolk Coroner Area with effect from 1 July 2025.
Central Bedfordshire Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Bina Patel as Area Coroner for the Bedfordshire and Luton Coroner Area.
Devon County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Nicholas Lane as Area Coroner for the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Coroner Area.
Devon County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Deborah Archer as Area Coroner for the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Coroner Area.
Wiltshire Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Grant Davies as Area Coroner for the Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner Area.
