President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales Retirement: Kirby OBE
Judge Carolyn Kirby OBE retires as the President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales with effect from 5 April 2025.
Background information
Judge Kirby OBE was admitted as a Solicitor in 1979. She was appointed as a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales in 1996 and Chairman of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales (now known as President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales) in 1999. She became a Member of the Council of the Law Society of England and Wales in 1999 and was President of the Law Society of England and Wales from 2002 to 2003. She was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2016.
