Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge Appointment: Andrew Smith KC
The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill has appointed His Honour Judge Andrew Smith KC to be a Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge based at Birmingham Crown Court, with effect from 1 July 2025.
Background Information
Andrew Smith will continue to be known as His Honour Judge Andrew Smith KC. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1997 and took Silk in 2012. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009 and as a Circuit Judge in 2022.
