How should I communicate with Employment Tribunals?
Since the summer of 2024, nearly all new cases in the Employment Tribunals in England and Wales have been part of a new digital system.
You can tell if your case is part of this system because it will have a case number beginning with the number 6 followed by six more digits then a slash and the year (e.g. 6000124/2025).
Your case is not part of this system if it begins with a different number (e.g., 1600235/2023).
If the case number begins with the number 8, it is a new case in Scotland. That is a different tribunal, and there is more information about the Employment Tribunals in Scotland elsewhere on this website.
You may also be provided with a 16-digit number, but you should use the case number in the format xxxxxxx/2025.
