Care Standards

We deal with various matters which include:

  • Appeals against decisions made by the Secretary of State for Education, the Care Quality Commission, Ofsted and the Care Council of Wales.
  • Appeals against decisions to cancel, vary or refuse registration of certain health, childcare and social care provision in England and Wales.

As judicial office holders, we understand the significance of this area of work for appellants, regulators and others. Your appeal or application will be heard by an independent panel including a judge and specialist tribunal members who have expertise and experience in the relevant area of practice.

Hearings are formal, with both parties given an equal opportunity to present their evidence and make their points. The panel will consider all of the evidence and submissions carefully before providing a written decision with reasons.

Details of upcoming hearings and previous Tribunal decisions are published online. I hope that you find this page and the links to further guidance and documents to be a useful source of information.
