Primary Health Lists

We deal with appeals and applications arising from decisions made by Primary Care Trusts and NHS England in England and Health Boards in Wales as part of the local management of lists of medical practitioners, dental practitioners, ophthalmic practitioners and some pharmacists who are able to provide NHS service.

The appeals include appeals against decisions to refuse to include any practitioner on the performers list, imposition of any conditions and removal of any practitioner from the performers list.

As judicial office holders, we understand the significance of this area of work for appellants, regulators and others. Your appeal or application will be heard by an independent panel including a judge and specialist tribunal members who have expertise and experience in the relevant area of practice.

Hearings are formal, with both parties given an equal opportunity to present their evidence and make their points. The panel will consider all of the evidence and submissions carefully before providing a written decision with reasons.

Details of upcoming hearings and previous Tribunal decisions are published online. I hope that you find this page and the links to further guidance and documents to be a useful source of information.
