Technology and Construction Court 150th Anniversary
This year, the Technology and Construction Court is celebrating its 150th Anniversary. To mark and celebrate this important milestone, a book about the history of the Court with contributions from past and present senior judiciary and others has been published. A number of events are taking place this year.
Those which have already taken place, in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and London, have been well-attended and highly successful. The most recent London event was generously hosted by the City of London at the Guildhall on 11 July. The speakers were David Sawtell, a co-author of the book and Dame Sue Carr DBE, the new Lady Chief Justice as from 1 October 2023. The most recent regional event was the Levelling-Up Moot in Manchester on 5 October which involved sixth form students debating the respective virtues of Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle as venues for a new TCC Super-court.
Details of the remaining events and the book are given below. There is also an exhibition of artefacts, exhibits and other material relating to the work of the Court on the Second Floor of the Rolls Building running from 16 March to 3 November 2023.
